A Summer Checklist for Teachers: 13 Ways to Relax

My favorites are getting a massage & going on a staycation with a good friend, your spouse, or just by yourself and be a tourist in your own city (and on a budget!)

These incredible adjustable chair shade umbrellas with universal-fit clamps have been incredible for the sun (and our budget)!

They are way easier to set up than even easy pop-up canopies and can be used on pretty much any foldable/collapsible chair!

A Little Inspiration

Because our headspace matters when we are trying to show up as our best selves for our students, our loved ones, and ourselves!

Recommendations

Here's a neat little thing I've been doing for a while but never thought about sharing: providing small (preferably cold) treats to our delivery people working in this insane heat.

The other day I was home with my two little boys and we saw the Amazon truck delivery stop in front of our house.

My boys always get excited because they know that's Amazon is kinda like Santa Claus: always bringing in exciting & cool things —except Amazon comes about three times a week instead of once a year, lol.

We have a problem, I know. 😅

Anyway, as we saw the guy dropping off packages to our house and our neighbors’, we grabbed a few frozen popsicles from our garage’s deep freezer and ran out!

If you could've seen this man's face as he got the popsicles; it lit up like a little kid’s! Because who doesn't love popsicles?

I hope this little story inspires you to think of small kind things you could do to make the world a kinder place!

A Little Inspiration

Because our headspace matters when we are trying to show up as our best selves for our students, our loved ones, and ourselves!

Even if you didn't grow up watching Boy Meets World, this powerful scene with the legendary teacher, Mr. Feeny, played by William Daniels, shows a tearful goodbye at the series’ finale.

It serves as a wonderful reminder of just how important our roles can be!
